The Academy Registrar, Colonel HE Ayamasaowei was recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army. The decoration ceremony took place on 8 January 2013 at the Commandant’s Conference Room NDA Permanent Site. The event which attracted a lot of dignitaries from within and outside the academy was most solemn and colourful. The Commandant Major General CO Onwuamaegbu who invested the Academy Registrar with the new rank was assisted by the celebrant’s wife, Engr (Mrs) Oluseyi Ayamasaowei.
Speaking at the event, the Commandant congratulated the Academy Registrar for a well deserved promotion, while urging him to keep the flag flying. He acknowledged that the senior officer has had a glorious career and wished him further successes in the years ahead. The Commandant praised Mrs Ayamasaowei for providing the much needed home support which enabled her husband to reach the present enviable height in his career.
In his vote of thanks, Brigadier General HE Ayamasaowei gave Almighty God all the glory for his promotion. He said he was privileged to work with the Commandant whom he aptly described as one of the finest of our Generals. He equally thanked him for his mentorship, guidance and support since assuming duties as the Academy Registrar. Furthermore, he expressed appreciation to the Deputy Commandant, Acting Academy Provost, his fathers in the Lord, Directors and all others who came to grace the occasion.
