PROFILE OF MAL SALIHU ABDULLAHI

1.   Mal Salihu Abdullahi was born in November 1959, at Sabon-Gari, Zaria. He attended Saint Mary (now known as Amina) Primary School Samaru Zaria and Chiroma Primary School Minna for his primary educatidmitted into Ahmadu Bahago Teachers’ College where he was trained for the noble profession (Teaching) from 1975 to 1980. After having his share of the teaching experience at Falladan Primary School at Zaria, he was admitted to School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria from 1981 to 1982. Abdullahi was then offered admission to study Public Administration at the Institute of Administration, ABU Zaria, in 1982. He graduated with BA Public Administration Second Class Honours Lower Division in 1985. He answered the clarion call for national service (NYSC) at Government Secondary School, Mubi then Gongola State (Adamawa State) of Nigeria from September 1985 - July 1986.

2.   He took up a teaching appointment with Kaduna State Government as Master Grade II and deployed to Government Girls Day Secondary School, Samaru Zaria in September 1988 - August 1989. In August 1989 he was employed as an Administrative Assistant in Establishment Division of ABU, Zaria. By August 1990, he took up appointment with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna as an Administrative Officer and rose to the rank of Deputy Registrar in 2006. His Administrative Career progression within Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna has been; Administrative Officer (Senior Staff Establishment Matters) August 1990 – May1992; Administrative Officer (Senior Staff Recruitment and Promotion) May 1992 – October 1993. Assistant Registrar (Faculty Affairs Division - Oct 1993 - November 1995; Assistant Registrar (Staff Development and Training) November 1995 – September 1996; Senior Assistant Registrar (Senior Staff Matters) October 1996 – December 1997;   Senior Assistant Registrar (Junior Staff Matters) December 1997 – September 2000; Principal Assistant Registrar (Admin/Establishment) October 2000 – 2008; Principal Assistant Registrar (Academics) March 2008 – December 2009; Deputy Registrar (Examination & Records) December 2009 – June 2011 and Deputy Registrar (Admissions & Cadets Matters) June 2011 to date. Mal Abdullahi enrolled for a master’s degree programme at the Nigerian Defence Academy, PG School in 2010, he was conferred with a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Strategic Studies 2011.

3.   Abdullahi attended the some courses within the country and abroad such as, General Management Course (GMC) at Administrative Staff College on Nigeria (ASCON) Topo – Badagry Lagos in1998. Basic Computer Course 04 at the Nigerian Defence Academy in 2003. Senior Staff Officer Course (Senior Course 27) at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji from 2004 – 2005. International University Exchange Programme at Southampton Solent University London in conjunction with Training Guide International of Nigeria in 2011.
