The Nigerian Defence Academy Officers Wives Association NDAOWA during its last general meeting held an interactive session with widows of soldiers.
Speaking at the event, the president NDAOWA Mrs Fauziya Ibrahim said her passion towards moving the NDAOWA forward and making life more comfortable for the less privileged necessitated the need to meet with the widows of soldiers as well as civilian staff of the NDA. The forum according to her would create a platform for the Association to have firsthand knowledge of how these women are faring, as well as receive direct feedback from them. She added that the gathering also offers an opportunity for her to present the widows with little tokens that could put smiles on their faces and offer some relief from the hardship they could be dealing with.
Addressing members of the association, the president Mrs Fauziya Ibrahim appealed to them to accord her the necessary support to carry out all the important tasks she has laid down to facilitate the growth of the association. She further encouraged them to support their husbands in the important task of training young officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces by making the home a comfortable and conducive place to come back after a hard day at the office.
In her interaction with the widows, Mrs Fauziya Ibrahim promised them her unflinching support to help alleviate their suffering. High point of the event was the presentation of food items and cash donations to the widows.
