The Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General MT Ibrahim has emphasized that education is an area that needs serious investment. He mentioned this during the commissioning ceremony of the newly remodeled NDA Staff Primary School.


Maj Gen Ibrahim, who intoned that teaching is a noble calling, further buttressed the importance of investing in education, noting that what you give is what you receive. While emphasizing that the NDA Staff School is dear to his heart and that he is determined to touch every facet of NDA community, the Commandant expressed gratitude to God that he was able to commission the remodeled facility. He further enjoined the teachers to work towards inculcating in the pupils the value of life, maintenance of property and how to tolerate one another. He also tasked the teachers to work towards realizing the vision of the staff school and letting the character of the pupils to reflect that of a model school.


He gave tribute to the chairman of the management board, the Academy Registrar (AR), Brigadier General MI Yusuf, the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and all those who saw to the successful completion of the project.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Abdulsalam, appreciated the Commandant for his timely intervention. She said that the Commandant has brought joy and smiles to the faces of the little angles by creating a more conducive learning environment for them, which comprised of a large multipurpose hall, home economic laboratory, classrooms, well equipped children’s play ground and amusement park and car parking lot for staff.
Also, the Academy Registrar, Brigadier General MI Yusuf, expressed his gratitude to the Commandant for approving and embarking on the project.
