BNTI Holds Presentation on the Design and Development of Shooting Range

In a bid to enhance the shooting capabilities of cadets, a military logistics and tactical support company, BNTI Limited, has made a product presentation before the Commandant NDA, Major General MT Ibrahim, and other Principal Staff Officers of the Nigerian Defence Academy on its companyâ€™s several products and solutions that could give the NDA an edge in the training of cadets that can fill the increasingly challenging need for young, well trained officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces.

BNTI Limited is a company that provides logistics support and platforms to military and paramilitary organisations in the area of training and provision of military hardware. Its expertise covers design, development and installation of outdoor shooting ranges (100m â€“ 18Km), indoor electronic and non electronic shooting ranges (25m â€“ 50m), obstacle crossing facilities and other military hardware that enhance military training and operability. The company has worked with some notable military and paramilitary organisations both within and outside the country, including the Directorate of State Services, among others. BNTI Limited was set up in 1985 and has its footprints in several countries worldwide.

Making the presentation on design and development of Shooting Ranges and Kill Houses on behalf of BNTI Limited, Mr Bem Ibrahim Garba, the CEO of the company, noted that the problem around us today is a lack of the ability to shoot and this can be remedied by training. The purpose of the visit, he therefore disclosed, was to show some various design to the NDA on the possibility of establishing an Outdoor Range, Indoor Range, Tactical Shooting, either dry fire or light fire, and Obstacle Crossing Course. Furthermore, Mr Garba emphasised, the skill of shooting cannot be over emphasised in the life of an officer, cadets and soldiers because it helps them protect lives and even themselves in the battlefield.

Speaking at the presentation, the Commandant, Major General MT Ibrahim, said the primary role of the Academy is training. He further disclosed that his priority as Commandant is on how best to improve the training facilities in NDA. He added that the development of a Shooting Range will greatly enhance the chances of cadets being good at shooting. He further indicated that there are types of shooting range design which he was considering for the Academy. They include a 37 square km landscape range, electric range, shooting house and galley range.
