NDA Partners NAOWA on Maternal, Infant Healthcare

Maternal and infant wellbeing is vital to the sustenance of every society. With this in mind, and in a bid further improve healthcare delivery as well as reduce the high rate of child and material mortality in various Army Barracks and Internally Displaced Persons’ Camps, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has agreed to partner with the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) to build Multi–National Healthcare Centres in various Army Barracks across the country.

The Commandant NDA, Major General MT Ibrahim made this disclosure when the President and members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association paid him a courtesy call at the Academy Headquarters, recently..

Major General MT Ibrahim who expressed delight at the visit of NAOWA, stated that the Nigerian Army, through the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Turkur Buratai, has played a significant role in the successes of the Nigerian Defence Academy. He equally called on other well meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to identify with the noble objectives of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association.

The President of NAOWA, Hajia Ummu Kulsum Tukur Buratai, while expressing gratitude over the warm reception accorded her and her entourage, stated that NAOWA was a charitable organisation that seeks to improve the welfare of widows, the less privileged and orphans . Hajia Buratai equally stated that the association was also poised at improving the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons in various camps across the country as well as improving the welfare of wives of officers and soldiers.
