Burma battalion beat three other battalions to emerge winner of the Inter battalion drill competition with total points of 2,572.5 organized for 66RC at the Permanent Site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).

Inter battalion drill competition is one of the series of military trainings in the NDA calendar of events aimed at testing the cadets in drill lessons taught them in their 1st and 2nd years in the Academy. All battalions are expected to ensure their cadets put up a high standard which is critical in enhancing individual cadet’s personal drill.

The Chief Judge Lieutenant Colonel AT Braimah announced that Abyssinia battalion came 2nd with total points of 2,449.5 while Mogadishu battalion took the 3rd position with total points of 2,345.5. 4th position went to Dalet battalion with total points of 2,294.5.

Declaring the competition closed, the Special Guest of Honour Group Captain OT Salami said military training of such is the bedrock of military discipline which is achieved through regular training and is adjudged to be of high standard. He urged the cadets to improve their level of proficiency and enjoined them to see the competition beyond winning laurels adding that training acquired will build confidence in them. He said rehearsals and precision will differentiate winners from loosers. To the winner battalion he congratulated them for a good job while also encouraging the others to keep training and improving. He thanked the former Commandant for the honour given him.
