At the just concluded Cadets Brigade Inter-Battalion Drill competition organized for cadets of 66 Regular Course, Dalet Battalion with total points of 205.7 emerged winner of the competition. The competition which was keenly contested for by the various cadet battalion; Burma, Dalet, Mogadishu and Abyssinia was held at the parade ground Nigeria Defence Academy permanent site.
Drill which is the bed rock of military discipline is very crucial to the professional development of soldiers which can only be achieved through regular training. With regular practice, the skills and training acquired during the practice would naturally build the confidence needed to be perfect in drill.
The Guest of Honour at the event Group Captain OT Salami, Chief Instructor Airforce Wing while addressing the cadets said with regular practice, it’s possible to attain the level of proficiency in drill which will help them throughout their professional development in the Armed Forces. He enjoined them to cease every opportunity for personal regular training in drill. He appreciated the comportment and performance of all cadets stressing that in any competition a winner must always emerge. For the winning battalion, he congratulated them while urging other battalion to strive harder in subsequent competitions.
