NDA And NARC
In the spirit of collaboration and partnership for a sustainable and better service delivery, the Director General (DG) of Nigeria Army Resource Center (NARC) Major General JGS Hamakin paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Major General MT Ibrahim.
While stating his purpose of visit, the DG NARC said that NARC is a research based institution with 7 directorates. He noted that as a decision making and think tank center, it became necessary for NARC to partner with the Academy and other Institutions nationally and internationally. According to him, the center provides solution to specialized institutions in order for them to work efficiently. He proposed to provide the culture of intellectual activity to the NDA which will serve as a platform for officers to access the research, solution and data based center.
In his response, the Commandant NDA, Major General MT Ibrahim congratulated the NARC for coming on board to tackle contemporary issues. He appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai and the DG NARC for establishing the NARC and guiding it to achieve its full potentials. He said that half baked information and haphazard method of doing things would be taken care of by NARC which will produce a more purposeful problem solving system.
The Commandant assured that NDA is enthusiastic about collaborations and will be available for partnership with NARC. He noted with the fine-tuning of the training programmes and provision of some facilities, the NDA has been able to tackle practical problems. He disclosed that NDA inculcates the basic set values like essential leadership qualities in the cadets and noted that the upcoming Faculty of Military Science and Interdisciplinary Studies could receive professional strategic assistance from NARC, noting that NDA strives to produce young officers whose quality will be unquestionable and so accepts any collaboration that will help to achieve this goal.
