History


The Department was established in Oct 1987.  It started with only a few courses, namely English, French, Introduction to Physical Education and Leadership Management.  From 1989/90 session onwards, additional courses were introduced across 100 to 300 levels.  The General Studies (GNS) programmes have since undergone several reviews to suit the needs of the Academy.  Currently the General Studies runs (15) fifteen courses across 100 – 300 levels.  The GNS Dept which started with two persons now has eight (8) academic staff, 2 senior non-academic and 5 junior staff.
